I have been looking and listening to exhaust systems, is anyone running the Borla? I don't see much about them, I do see a type s style racing exhaust, does anyone know anything about this, has this replaced the stinger for the c-6?
Thanks

C6 CYAA I think you are correct, how is the resonance with the X-pipe installed. I Like the sound of the Borla but I don't care for the 1600 rpm resonance very much.
Thanks

I race my 2005 C6 in DOT street class, running Borla stinger system with x pipe, picked up 15 hp on dyno. Great sound and quality, easy install 30 minutes on lift. 14 lbs lighter than factory system!
We dyno each mod on Dyno and track as completed, not after a group of items have been installed!!!!

I have the Borla Sports. I liked the sound but it did resonate at the 1500 to 1600 rpm range. I put the X pipe on and that did help but did not completely take the resonating away.

Interesting. I have without the X-pipe. Did the x-pipe change the volume at all? Did it take away the burble? I love the burble on decel and wouldn't want to part with that. Do you think adding the x-pipe had any disadvantages?

Yes I think after I put the X pipe on the sound was toned down some. It takes the burble out of it as well.
Disadvantages? Not really .......it's better exhaust flow. After that it's what you want for sound.
I think that there is still plenty of volume at WOT as well as idle.
I got the Borla Sport exhaust without x-pipe installed in May and also LOVE the sound of the burble! I did not get the x-pipe because I was waiting for the LG longtubes with x-pipe. I recently got the headers with x-pipe installed and the burble is even better. It is almost like drifting through a curve. I can ride and control the burble based on speed & gear (mn6). The burble sometimes seems to go on and on and on. If I want the burble to stop I hit the clutch. I have seen the Billy Boats and think their fit and finish is superior to Borla. However, I prefer the sound of the Borla sport (not as lous as the Bullets and not as meek as the Route 66). Also, the Borla's like cannons compared to the standard exhaust.
I agree - I don't want to give up that snap, crackle and pop! What did the LG's do to the sould other than accentuate the burble? Did they make it much louder? More 'raw' sounding? Did you get the high flow cats? I wouldn't be happy if it was any louder. I didn't get the B&B Bullets for that reason - I found them way too loud.
Part of the reason I didn't get the x-pipe was I was also thinking I might want headers one day.
The X-pipe flows better. At higher RPM the X help to scavange the exhaust from the opposite pipe. The factory "H" loses the cross over effect at higher RPM's. Over 4800 RPM nothing sounds smoother than stingers w/ "X".
