I can't do both right now but wondering if the cam is worth doing prior to long-tubes?
Having owned 2 C5s...while drooling over the modder's fest this forum provided...When I purchased an 04 GTO for CHEAP, it was with the fullest intention of doing all the stuff I missed.
I intended to be smart about the mods though, maximizing gains for investment.
I added a set of Z06 #243 Heads (unported), CC 921 springs and an LGM G5X-3. I took it to Lou's shop and we spun the rollers to 369 / 343. This was with Lou and I working the HP Tuners. Straight-up the car felt lazy and strained. All this time we were blowing through the stock cats and iron log manifolds.
A few weeks later I ordered up SW headers and RT Hi FLOW CATS.
The car CAME ALIVE!!! SWEET JESUS!!!
Granted...you are considering a pretty mild cam for the LS2...MTI Stealth. I would seriously consider the headers and cam to go together. I don't think you will lose anything on the cam, but I think the results considering all the labor could be lackluster.
Awesome gains from the headers (you must have gotten tuned at that time?) but very slight gains from the cam/intake manifold. What size cam was that? Small blower cam I bet? Thanks
Cajun
You are spot on... don't have the specs on the cam, but it is the small 21cmc blower cam...

Went with the Kooks with cats from Tbyrne. I will install them with a buddy at the base autoshop. I think it's smart to free up the exhaust before a cam. Next year, I will go with a cam of some sort.
