Default decatting a C6

would decatting and fixing a full sport exhaust to a C6 bring eventual malfunctions to the ecu? what about the lambda sensors reading? should any bypass be custom made to avoid misreading in the ecu? also, what is the best air intake/cold air sistem to complement a sport exhaust?..and finally what's the best decatted sport exhaust sistem fm headers to mufflers? what abt getting rid of the mufflers altogether? would some backpressure needed? thanks a lot

LG's headers come with cats or offroads, and would offer the best performance. I don't think you need mufflers for backpressure, but the car will be loud without any exhaust.

You can have the codes for your rear O2's tuned out if you have problems, but you'll likely need them re-instated to get an inspection.

The difference in Hi-flow cats vs. no Cats is 3-5hp based on what I have read. As David stated the rear cat sensors can be tuned out or there are sensor simulators available.

For header choice I would suggest matching your driving profile to the header profile. The LGs offer superior mid-range power (excellent for road racing and general driving), Kooks are a drag profile headers and off superior high-rpm power for Drag Racing, Dynatechs are a comprimise between LGs and Kooks for mid-range and high rpm power. I have not seen enough dynos on the other brands form an opinion.

...could i fix the x flow mid exhaust section after a lg catted header? what's a 'long header' and what performance advantage gives against the others? sorry for my ignorancy on new cars, i have a C3 with a carburetted 575hp 406 stroker with a very simple hooker side pipe with no cats/no mufflers and no ecu b...s...

I've just seen on the web the LG pro longtube headers, they look great and the business, i see no cats whatsoever along the construction and only would need a couple of borla sport mufflers at the end...i wont have problems with traffic inspections as where i live in europe the inspections are 'elastic' and the first is after 3 years for a new car, the only concern is the CO readings and how to avoid ecu malfunctions, could i have a web site where get this sort of things, thanks a lot

If its long term gut the existing cats so you don't have legal issues if you have an accident. Fed fine is 10k and they do hand it out.
