Default Help! Power drop between 3rd - 4th

Ok, what gives? When I shift from 3rd to 4th, I experience sort of a "bog" after engaging 4th gear. I'm WOT and even tried shifting at 6K RPM and still experienced the same thing. My (minor) mods are listed below but none of them are new...opinions please.

Corsa Sport
8.5mm plug wires
Stinger

Torque Management, you'll need to get it turned off by getting your ECM reflashed.Had mine done by Z-industries ( Ron Zimmer) the car feels great now.

Perhaps is it the gear ratio spacing that bothers you. Note what rpm you land at when shifting gears. 3rd to 4th might be a bigger jump, (I can't recall so I'm not sure if it is or not) causing the rpms to fall lower, making it feel slow.
What about shifting at 6500?

This may be a quess here but make when you installed your stinger intake that you didn't somehow leave something loose or connected wrong(removed the MAF screen?). What your describing sounds kinda like a lean condition I got on my Mach 1 before I had the computer tuned with the Diablo. Mine would especially "fall on its face" when you downshifted from 4th to 3rd above say 4000rpm's while laying on the throttle.

That is true of the Z51 gearbox - a huge gap between 3rd and 4th. the standard (and Z06) MN6 has closer gear spacing from 3rd to 4th.

The gear ratios on 4-6 is too far apart. Car feels a lot worse from 4-5. I know cus I've tried it. The ratios from 1-3 is great though

The one time I took it up to redline in 4th, I shifted to 5th and acceleration reduced drastically. It was kind of dissapointing because at those speeds I'm used to my bike which has a close spacing on all 6 gears.

Guys:

Thanks for the replies. I have over 10K miles on the car and this is a new condition. I'm aware of the gearing but that is not the issue here. This is a performance issue.

A couple of you mentioned tuning, and I like the idea. Is there much of a risk buying a tuner vs sending the PCM to someone for a custom tune /flash? i.e. Do the programmers get us close to one of the custom tuners without placing the motor at risk?
