Well, my modded (h&c) Headers etc. died 2 weeks ago. Oil pump failure due to metal shavings found in the oil. At this point I am not quite sure what exactly caused the problem that led to failure, but needless to say, because of the modding this will not be under warranty.

I called Andy at A&A Corvettes and he just happened to have a 402 stroker with 225 ETP heads almost ready to go. Along with the heads we will be making a decision on a cam. Some other goodies will be a fast intake, a Halltech stinger and Charlie will tune it when it is ready. I already have Kooks and Magnaflows.

I would like to see 500 rwhp and close to that in torque. I will post results when the car is complete

You'll get it. I have a 402 stroker with ported AFR 205s (built to optimize torque, while retaining ability to pass sniffer test), and got 486 472 on their dyno.

Nice numbers. How does it run and how is traction in the lower gears?

It runs flawless (and this is through an A4 and tc)! I sure can't floor it off the line, but other than that, the PS2s hook the power pretty well.

You will definitely learn the value of modulating the throttle, if you don't know it already!

Talked with Andy at A&A today while the car was on the dyno, and though it was still being tweaked by Charlie the numbers were coming in at 500 rwhp and 490 rwtq. These are the numbers that Andy had predicted and he was right on the money. I was considering a cam in the 240 range. I thought the bigger cam would give the car about 525 rwhp but Andy said using a slightly smaller cam would give me better driveability and still plenty of power.

I'll be picking it up tomorrow and bringing it home. Looking forward for the first test drive.

Working with Andy has been nothing short of what you would expect from a professional. The job was done promptly, phone calls returned and so far the product is what he said it would be. Its refreshing working with a pro.

I'll post tomorrow after taking delivery

What was the input from the shop that did the work on your original motor or did you do the work yourself?

Seems they should be accountable for metal shavings.

Its a shame since you had awesome numbers with the shock shortblock.....oh well...more tq never hurt..

Picked up my car on Thursday. It was better than I had hoped for. It ended up at 518 rwhp and 498 rwtq. It is quite the beast. I was impressed with Charlies tuning. Even with this size cam there is some lope but idle quality is good. My head and cam package had great results but not like this.

The previous tuner here in Southern California that did my H&C takes no responsibility for anything. Its like talking to a brick wall. Trying to have a conversation with this tuner is like talking to a two year old. It was one screw up after another with this clown and yet trying to show him what had occured was to no avail. Andy from A&A got so frustrated trying to explain what had been the issues he had to hang up on the guy.

Money was not the issue here. It was about ethics and professionalism.
I learned several lessons here.
Use only highly qualified tuners for you mods.

Alls well that ends well.

I will PM anyboby who is interested in who not to use for their modding here in SOCAL

PS......This car is freaky fast. For you guys in SOCAL, if you see a silver C-6 with chromed wheels and Magnaflows, that looks stock but dosen't sound stock, don't forget to wave

Andreas already gave up the shop on another thread. Sounds good. You said you were considering a cam in the 240 range but went smaller because of Andys reccomendation. What did you end up with for cam? What rpm is your idle? I dont recall reading about anything done with the driveline, are you still stock clutch etc.?

Thanks Robin, I appreciate it.

Did you get in for a final tune, if so, where did you end up?
