Default Vortex Owners

A recent thread on the pros and cons of MAF screen removal drew a number of responses from folks that had installed the Vortex CAI. I've seen recent discussion on CAIs offered by LPE and Vararam but not much on the Vortex. If you have a Vortex CAI can you please comment on your observations as far as 1) performance - either dyno and or quarter mile, 2) drivability, and 3) gas mileage. Thanks!

Had mine installed yesterday.. They didnt take out the screen,or disconnect the battery... I got the carbon fiber set. very nice set up . car feels like a rocket now, also have Kooks Headers Stock set- up sucks. Much more Cold Ram Air. Im Happy With My Vortex..Exhaust sounds louder now. I have stock exhaust for now , Im waiting to hear the best exhaust system. either BB 66, Corsa Sport, Not sure yet.

Just responded to your PM.

The best intake out there.....Vortex + BB Bullets and the car is an Animal. I just love it when the nose comes up when I punch it .

I would say between the 2 mods, I've gotten 40+hp to the wheels

I believe LPE and Vararam offer their CAIs for $399. How about offering us a group purchase on the Vortex for the same $.

Commercial posting

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Supporting vendors pay for the considerable bandwidth charges on the Forum, making it free for the rest of us. In exchange, they get the privilege of using the Forum to market and promote their goods and services.
Forum members are welcome to sell a Corvette or Corvette parts they purchased for their own personal use. Anything else is considered to be a commercial sale. No links to eBay sales, please. If the sale is appropriate for the Forum, post it on the Forum, rather than linking to it elsewhere.

Members are not prohibited from mentioning it when they have a good (or bad, for that matter) experience with a non-supporting vendor. But such mentions cannot be so specific (address, phone number, e-mail address, URL, price, part number, etc.) and so frequent that they become marketing and promotional references.

Only supporting vendors can post Group Purchase threads.Members can include a mention of their personal businesses in their signatures so long as the enterprise does not compete with an existing supporting vendor, is not Corvette-related and is not so detailed or so frequently appended to their posts that it becomes inappropriate marketing and promotion
