Default My 403 Complete

I took my car in to 21st Century Musclecars a couple of weeks ago for the 403 upgrade for my C6.
http://www.21stcenturymusclecars.com/pack403ls2.asp

First the old motor came out

Then the 403 was built.
After interviewing me about my goals for the car and my driving style, John Page selected the 234/240 598/608 114 Cam for my build. I am using the LS7 clutch.

I had my Kooks Jet Hot coated flat black.

I stopped in at 21st Century Musclcars today and the motor is in the car . It won't be long now

That thing is going to run like it came that way.

Those headers look awesome. Anyone know if jet-hot coating makes things any quieter?

I doubt anyone knows the answer to that question as normally people coat their headers before they are put on, and they certainly will be louder than the stock manifolds.

midnite may be the first to do this, but like others, more upgrades are going on at the same time, so it's going to be louder anyway.

Keep us informed with the build, and let us know the final results!!!

Are you going totally N/A or are you planning on some form of positive induction??

I am not planning on Forced induction. I am waiting to see how it drives but I think it may have enough power for me

Of course that may change after I get my butt handed to me a couple of times.

Default Thanks

Thanks Ed. I am excited at getting the car back. I know John and his team have put a lot of work into my car. I think I will like it

GentleBen posted his 403 numbers. I was impressed with the numbers Lingenfelter got on his 403 install This is quite a package.

And now I'm sitting here, biting my nails, waiting on Autobahn Transport to bring my toy home to me. Scheduled to arrive Friday . . . right after the first major snowstorm is scheduled to hit the Washington D.C. metroplex.

I would tell John to work on his math skills. 501 is more than 550 flywheel and just about 600 at the motor.

If he cant get the simple math right what good could that motor be?

If you sell it to me now, I will give you most of your money back on the parts.

Nice job....enjoy.

Default 501

Yeah John and I laughed about the 550. My car produced more HP than he guessed when he had the covers done. LPE rates the motor @ 520 crank with stock exhaust and intake(I'm not saying the difference is intake and exhaust just that was his point of reference for the guess). The car is sweet. I doubt I will sell it but, thanks for the offer.

More pics

I also had a B&M shifter installed and changed all lubricabts to Redline

LOL.......Funny stuff.

If you use the factor of .85 which is approximate but close (assuming it's a 6 speed) the crank hp is 590.23
Great numbers

So what tires you getting next week?

Seriously, any traction plans?

Default Traction

Traction is a bit of a problem in first or second gear. It is every racers dream to have excess power and control traction with his righ foot. I am living that dream now

I plan to install 325s on 11" rims as a start. Probably not next week but I doubt if these tires will last long. Right now I am enjoying to "sleeper" qualities of my car. As a Porche GT2 driver who tried to drive around me getting on the Dallas Tollway learned. He crossed the double white entering the tollway and attempted to "jump ahead". Needless to say we merged in the proper order

Here is a comparison chart of stock vs. the LPE 403
