Default Gasoline Additives

Top tier gasolines have proper additives to keep your engine and injectors clean across their complete range of gasoline grades. My question is, "Do other companies that are not designated as top tier (Mobile, Texaco, BP, Sunoco) have the proper additives in their 93 octane grade of gasoline?" If I remember correctly, when fuel injection was becoming more standard in the 80's most companies did not put the injector cleaning additives in their complete range of gasoline grades but did put it in their top grades.

Shell is the only top tier gasoline, I am aware of, that is sold in my area. I would like to know if I am as well off using the 93 octane in one of the other brands I mentioned.

I would use a bottle of Techron addative every three or four tankfuls.

I'm pretty sure Exxon Mobil is a recent TTG qualifier. I always use a bottle of Techron or Redline's SI-1 about twice a year before an oil change. I do the same in my 2.5L Wrangler and recently tore it open and found everything to be pretty clean for 61K miles.

Techron is the stuff to use. Get it at Costco, 4 pak for around $ 10. GM did tests and this stuff works.

I use Redline one fuel Additive every so often. The whole bottle at one time with a fill up. I've had my injectors checked at 50000 miles on a 1999 Z28 I had and my tunner said they looked brand new. That sold me. From what I learned, was that redline is a detergent not a solvent, that's the difference. It cleans but will not hurt the injector. That's goood enough for me.

i try to stop only at top tier stations but sometimes it just ain't possible. yes, if you gotta use a non top tier station, use the highest octane possible. a bottle of techron won't hurt but read the instructions. most bottles only treat up to 10-12 gallons, which means you only put in 10 gallons after you add it to the empty tank.

some 93+ is better than others;

these are the stations i try to stop at in order of preference if a top tier is not ava. always get the 93+

Texaco*
Unocal 76
Amoco
Exxon
BP
Sunoco
some Texaco stations offer 93 with Techron. If it's a non-Techron station they would fall off the list.

when i have my choice of the top tiers in my area i choose;

Chevron
Shell

Has anyone tried BG 44K? I have used it in the past and it seemed to produce results.
