What would be the best intake to compliment my corsa sport?

LPE intake is the best by far; but if you are prone to bad luck get a halltech stinger. It's easy to install and breathes well.

LG Longtube headers are the best; hands down. However, dynatech's are cheaper (and hit the market first). Either will compliment your exhaust nicely.

By far? Hands down?
Based on what exactly?

That Vararam is looking pretty good right now as well and Kooks long tubes have worked wonders on quite a number of C6s thus far.

I know LPE has the best intake based on the air draw. I'll concede that VARARAM is a good one too; I'm using halltech and it's working quite well for my application. I've seen both LPE and Halltech; which is why I only commented on them - experience.

IF LG made one - I'd buy it; but it's super-secret and only used on the racecar!

yes hands down; with TQ/HP - exact isn't really approachable.

So let me use something else that's more appropriate "excellence" I consider excellence in my "choosing" based on abilities and showmanship. I just don't see a lot of "kooks" or "dynatech" on Sundays/SCCA racing in the lead.

Nice Job

As for headers it depends on what you are going to use your car for.

LGs are engineered for Road Racing and provide great Torque in the low to mid range.

Kooks are a drag profile header and their record at the track is with out comparison.

Dynatech are a comprimise between the two and is a popular choice with people looking for all around performance.

I went with Kooks and later powder coated them to improve their looks. Dynatech and LGs are good looking as they come.

I agree on the LPE intake I think it is the best. There are many entries on the market now and I like the one Spin Monster built and Davd Farmer's home made solution for cold air. Lot's of choices.

In response to the original question posted about intakes, I believe you to be asking about airboxes rather than intakes -

If so, there are many different designs and styles which are important to consider -

The most obvious of course, is whether you want an open filter design (Open filter(s) sitting in front of the radiator) or a "bottom breather" that you trim the shroud and it draws cool(er) air from the pocket under the bumper opening.

I would suggest searching / sifting through the past topics on the matter by using the forum "SEARCH" function - there is a wealth of info to be found...

Now, if you were really asking about an intake, Callaway Cars now offers an intake made for the C6's LS2 as part of their Power Groups

High Volume Polymer Intake Manifold
>Large intake runners provide increased inlet air volume for increased cylinder charging
>Runner length is specifically tuned for peak top end HP while maintaining strong midrange torque
>Comes complete with Installation Kit, including Callaway fuel rail assembly, gaskets, brackets and hardware for true bolt-on installation

I hope this helps with your search for more power

This is a nice setup; however I'd rather have different headers. I like the intake manifold; hopefully they'll sell it alone if it's a good performer.

Also, I only commented because he asked about intakes with corsa; this subject is beat up and down to the point of puking.

Lastly, as you noted, the question is really about air-filter not actually intake-manifold. As for manifolds, I'm looking for something better than what's on the car; and I'm also looking to get rid of the Z06/385HP cam from early Z06s. I can't believe they put that on these LS2 400hp motors.

I have installed several and most customers prefer the halltech system; an easy install. A good tune with any intake helps alot. http://www.corvettec5.com/store/?page=shop/index

They just released a new one that kind of looks like the Halltech. The tunnel resembles my LPE tunnel design and the filter looks similar to the Halltech.

callaway honker here too.

i am also in them market for headers and cant make up my mind either. i find i have the most fun in my C6 when i am at cruisng speed, downshift, get the rpms up to about 4k and mash it. so i guess i need headers that hit the mid to top end. LGs? does this mean that i sacrifice anything down low, or does that stay? i dont want to lose anything anywhere in the range. just gain up through the mid to high.

if i sound confused about what i am talking about, its all your fault!

Not sure if the intake is avail. on its own - when first introduced, it was part of their SuperNatural package only - now I see it is part of their Power Groups

re: cam - the Power group 3 car I drove idled NICE You could certainly tell there was a cam in it - but it was smooth (enough) at idle, yet (they) showed gains on the dyno

I also drove one of their 427 C6's - One word, NASTY!!!!!

I hope this helps - Ohh, and I agree, lose the stock cam, ASAP. Esp. once you are waist deep in other "breathability" mods

I have the Halltech and the reason I chose it over the others was I DID NOT want a bottom feeder. Does the LPE seem to preform better on a dyno yes but for me the chance (Though it is slim) of taking water wasn't worth a couple HP.

I think the LPE performs better; but I say "buy based on your luck!!" If you are prone to "issues" - then avoid it!

I'm in the same boat you are in; I'd rather have a no-low-risk air filter and spend the money on the best road-racing headers than go with a medium-risk air filter and multi-use headers. I say this, because it seems folks will go with LPE/DynaTech when it carries inherent risk. I can get the same performance with HallTech/LG-LTs and reduce/remove significant risk!!

Again, generally I have good luck, but "issues" tend to plague me on occasion!

I was looking at the LPE intake, but I just looked at the thread above, with the new K&N design. Any stats on this one yet?
