Has anyone had a bad exp. with either????? I have heard that the mag creates alot of heat ?? The car will be used 99% on street. Maybe a drag now and then. My BIGGEST concern is RELIABILITY and LONGGEVITY. The hood issue isnt a worry of mine. I sold my 600hp cobra and I want something more streetable. I'll be getting a 06' coupe...Plus its gotta be faster than my neighbors 04 viper.....
Love my ATI P1SC kit, however 21st Century Muscle Cars changed a ton of stuff in the kit to meet my needs... Can't argue with 620rwhp and 518rwtq at 5.5 psi...that's = 713hp at the crank

Hey any experts out there, I'am looking for the same answers as 701,
I also have a RX7, and the best system for this car is a Turbo. I'am very familar with the Turbos...
I really need to know from any experts on this C6 car,
1.Does the Mag Charger produce more heat than the ATI Charger.
2.Does the Mag Charger produce more Low end power than the ATI.
3.Which system is easier to install and work on...
4.Which system is less problems less maintainence..
5.which system produces more power through the entire rpm range...
I'am not worried about pricing or that with the Mag , we need a new hood, I was going to replace it anyways...
from what i understand so far is the maggie is a better low end producer and the pro/c is a bigger hp producer on the top. Someone told me that the maggie creates ALOT of heat which aint good..But the person who told me that was a pc dealer. The mag def. is a good looking unit. Like i said our main goal is reliability and longgevity. Is one really better than the other.........................Craig
Does the mag. create alot more heat than the pro/c. and if yes what does it harm...
i've had a good experience with a centrifugal blower in the past. although, it was a smaller displacement engine so it would have been a better solution there to have a posi-displacment blower (like the maggie).
in the end, the two major problems will be ECU programming (i mean fuel/air at every single data point in the curve, not just for WOT) and heat soak.
naturally aspirated cars are not setup from the factory to deal with the heat that forced induction brings so you have to be thoughtful in your approach to deal with the added heat under the hood.
i'd also like to hear why people pursue posi-blowers for these v8s because it isn't as though they suffer from a lack of low end. what you seek is power, which would seem to be solved by turbocharging or centrifugal blowers. positive displacement blowers place a constant strain on the engine because boost is always there (not to mention potentially higher levels of drag on the engine) whereas turbos or the centrifugal blowers max out the boost at higher rpms so the peak psi and effective compression on the engine is lower meaning less wear and tear.
Thanks for the input. Very informative. Some of these cam and head packages look to be great performers also, thats got to be more reliable than a blower......
I'm looking to be reliable and be able to run w/a viper. If it gives me half the thrill my BB cobra did I'll be happy. I got sick of tinkering with my cobra all the time and it wasnt a car I would want to drive for more than an hour or so.
I'm planning on putting a supercharger on my C6. It's a convertible so it won't spend much time at the track (won't go with a roll bar). The motor spends most of it's time below 4000 RPMs so I want to feel the horsepower increase without having to go higher than that. For this reason I'll be using the Magnuson. If the car was going to spend more time at the track and in the higher RPM range, they I would be leaning more towards the ATI.
The Magna will give better low/mid rpm throttle response. It will feel like you have a 427ci stroker under the hood. They make full boost at around 2K rpm, and are fun on daily-drivers. The ProCharger will be quicker on the highway, and probably put down better peak hp numbers. Centrifugals take rpm to start making good power, they aren't "instant-on" like the roots/screw type blowers. The ProCharger *should* put down better times at the track, but you will feel the Magna's results more often, on a day-to-day basis.
I'm putting the Magna in mine, I had excellent results with the same setup on a 348ci LS6: www.ExtremeG.net
