Default question about tire height

i have a 2006 C6 and was wondering if i had a tire that was 28.6" high would it clear the rear fenders without rubbing. the stock tire is 26.9". so i am waiting to go 1.7" higher on the tire. thanks

Increasing the diameter 1.7 inches will decrease tire to quarter panel/body clearance by 0.85 inches. This will also affect the speedometer, and raise the cg.

I do not know if the tire will rub. The OEM tire size is a tight fit and you need room for suspension travel and lateral body movement.

Maybe someone has already tried this fitment?

Rubbing would be only part of the problem. You would also effect your Active Handling since the compuer would be seeing the wrong wheel speed between front and rear. You would also change your effective differential gearing; If you have a Manual 6 spd the 3.42 gear would act like a 3.33 and if you have an Auto 6 your 2.56 gear would act like a 2.49. (less dig, more speed).

Tire height is a programmable variable in both HPtuners and LS2 edit. You can run go kart tires in the rear and skatebord wheels in the front with proper programming.

It shouldn't rub if you keep the ride height stock. It will be the same as if you lowered the car almost an inch. It may require reprogramming for the abs. If you are talking about the 345/35 with wider fenders or mini-tub you might have a problem. but at stock width you should be ok.
