Fuel Rail Covers - Functional?
Anyone know if the C6 Fuel Rail Covers are there for a reason, other than cosmetic? For instance, are they there to help keep the coils dry etc. I am one of the few who like the look of the engine without the covers, but I don't want to remove them if they serve a useful purpose. It seems to me that they would tend to retain a lot of heat over the fuel rails and coils etc.

They cover a lot of wire's that could easily be pulled and broken if they were exposed.

Must be for appearance, the early LS1's did not have fuel rail covers and didn't have any problems.

OK, they're off. It gives it that early tractor look. Anyone for a sled pull?

Nope, the engine looks like the sale bin in an electrical surplus store without them.
