I just got back from The Dyno Shop.(Dyno Jet) LG's, Corsa's, Stinger. First run in "S", TC off, AH on. (I thought he had turned both off) 334 HP. He shut it down and I told him to use the paddles so he could lock in the gears. Then the DIC starts flashing "Service Active Handling", "Service ABS." He tries to put it in paddle mode, but the gears don't show up on the DIC. He tries it anyway. The paddles work, even though the gears are still not showing. TC off only again. Due to all the drama, I forgot to tell him to turn the AH off also. 345.8 HP and 345.7 TQ. The inlet temp was 82 deg. I was hoping for over 350, but I'm thinking the computer glitches could have robbed some. The AH is suppose to be off, isn't it?
Anyway, the exhaust sounded wicked. The shop owner and I had to plug our ears at WOT. All the employees came running in to see what was making the sound. Here's the chart:
if the "serice active hadling" light was on then it was more than likley disabled just as if it would have been turned off. Same as the ABS since the computer see the front wheels not spinning at the same rate it thinks something is wrong and disables the system. I would assume it's the same for the TC as well, so you're probably pretty dead on with your numbers.
I guess that makes sense. I hope they crack the A6 code soon so I can get a tune. I'll do another run after that. I'll try to do it early in the morning for that cool dense air.
At least you are not running as fat on your A/F. Mine was under 12 from 4500 on and down to 11.4 between 5000-5500. I agree I can't wait till they get a tune figured out.
Numbers might be a little low but again that was untuned...I think right now your mods aren't doing too much for you (though rare, some other autos have dyno'd higher bone stock) but after tuning the car (well the dyno numbers at least) should really 'wake up'.
I'm getting ready to start the hunt for a A6 C6 and I'm beginning to think the LS2 (for whatever reason) isn't making it's claimed power or that the LS6 was vastly under rated. Here's my dyno run off a trusted and some say "low reading" dyno facility here in St Louis - Mustang Muscle.
My base line before mods was 354/351, after installing a Blackwing, Bassani X-pipe and B&B PRT's I'm at 367.
I'm beginning to think that the A4/A6's have more parisitic drive train loss than expected. Maybe I better stick to a MN6.
Tom I think the parasitic loss for the A4/A6 is not bad and better than I expected. I'm assuming that you have the MN6. The A4/A6 is running right around 15% loss on average from what I have seen so far. For an auto that is pretty good. I figured 20% just going in.
Also remember even though it is not much you have more HP stock than the C6.

Most people with this setup (headers / exhaust / intake) are getting in the 370 plus range (with tuning)
Mine (6 speed, the real kind), with just Corsa sports and tuning is in the 360 plus range...
Next time, with a tune, I'll have him do the first run in paddle mode so he can make sure it's in 4th. I think he used 5th. I'll also make sure the TC and AH are off.
