mistake. could happen to some people. falls into the same category as leaf blower superchargers. and be careful what you post around here, this board is not very forgiving.
there was a vid floating around with a leaf blower hooked up to, I think it was a civic, dynoed with and without and gained 15 horsies across the board ::holds breath and jumps in::

Actually on some vehicles this would make a difference - remember the Firebirds of the late 80's with the horrible inlet airflow? If a vehicle had a bad OEM design intake this make a diff.
For the way the new Vette's breathe - probably nada.

Yes there is, and during WOT they manually give it a shot of NOS!
The idea is sound the real question though is because of the alternater having to work hard is that going to eat up the gains. A friend and I have been toying with the idea or a hydralic S/C.
I had one of these 5 years ago and did some Gtech tests that showed 10 hp increase on my 99 911. I think the benefit on the C6 would be to get cold air into the intake with some creative ductwork!
Uh, I don't think that can honestly be called a supercharger. To truly supercharge your car, you need some way to force lots more air into the engine, whether it be a leafblower or an ATI or Vortech setup.
The computer programming can be changed, and if done properly, the new tune can produce a little more power than you had before.
Electric superchargers are nothing new. They have been marketed as an assist to buses for years. Do the math. The compressor must be able to develop enough pressure to change the intake charge from vaccume to pressure in order to develop signifigantly more power. So, you will need a very large, fast DC motor or multiple units to feed 7.0L. A blower must also develop more pressure as the RPM increases. So, the electric blowers must operate via a rhiostat. The bus units do this. This set up will work ok on small displacement motors because of their displacement realitive to the size of the 12V motors available, but I would go SC or Turbo first. I think I will wait on superconductivity or Warp drive before I go for this one on a V8, let alone 7.0L.
Hmmm. Moron??. I may not know alot of technical stuff about automobiles, thats why i asked the question. The moron is one who takes action without knowledge or makes asinine statements such as yours!

Don't take it personally. Some people are quick to say smart*ss statements. He probably wasn't referring to you, but to the marketing guy trying to sell an electric supercharger.

I would be more inclined to give someone the benefit of a doubt as we all type wise *** remarks from time to time. Unfortunately, typing on a keyboard is not like normal conversation and things that someone may say in conversation to be entertaining are not taken that way when typed on a keyboard.
