Z06 shifter really shorter?

Default Z06 shifter really shorter?
Is the new Z06 shifter really shorter then the stock C6 MN6?

Having had a 02 Z06 previously I can say I love the stock shifter in the car. However someone told me that the Z06 shifter effort is further reduced about 15%. Any truth to this?

As i will not get my 07 Z06 till around Sept./Oct.
