I have a 03 Honda Pilot with Navi. I made a back up copy and I have been using the copy ever since. Now if I can just find an 05 with navi so I can make a back up. But the your car should have come with the navi disc. Some of this dealers think we are morons.
Tell him to go back to the dealer and demand one -it comes with the car ...
Besides. The data is copywright protected. Burning a DVD without the original copy and licensing would be piracy. I hate to be the moral conscience, but I work for a software company and piracy is a huge issue for us and others. If the car came with NAV, the dealer or GM should supply you with a clean, licensed copy for use.

My wife has the 05 Odyssey. Send me your address and I will burn you a copy.

That's what happens when sleaze ***** try to charge over $300 replacement cost for something with a production cost of about $1.
I even pay for freeware, but would never let a dealer hold me up like that bandit tried to hold him up.
But i also talked to my cussin in Miami & He bought a New 05 Left Over from Kelly Chevrolet about 3 weeks ago & he didn't get a CD Also! Dealer told him the same thing 300.00 for a CD.
Sounds to me like the dealer is taking the NAV disks out of the cars when they are on the used lot ... every C6 comes with one free disk, but I have heard conflicting stories about yearly upgrades (new disks) in subsequent years.

True, the cost of the DVD is relatively inexpensive. The cost of the programming, mapping data (which is not free from suppliers) etc are where the costs arise. Given the vast amount of data, $300 or $350 is not out of line. Heck, Tom Tom Go is a relatively expensive option and the hardware cost is probably only $25.
Feel free to pirate, but I can assure you we are one company that takes it seriously and actively pursue flagrant violators through all lawful means. I do not work for the map supplier, but if it was our product, we would be all over this thread.
