Default Windows Stuck

In bad weather when my windows freeze the door doesn't like to open and close for obvious reasons. Once they defrost and I open the door the windows go down slightly to break the seal and then when I close the door the window don't go back leaving a half inch gap to let the weather in the car. After a day or so everything starts to work properly again. I hate GM, this is just another thing added to my long list of problems with this car.

Anyone else have this problem?

Any suggestions? God knows the dealer will be useless.

See page 2-17 in the owner's manual (see below).

Power Window Initialize
After a power reconnect such as battery replacement,
the window index-up feature will not function until
the system is initialized. Once power is restored,
do the following:
1. Close the door.
2. Raise the window by pulling up the switch.
3. Hold the up switch for three seconds after the
window is closed. Release the switch.
4. Hold the up switch again for three seconds
and release.
