Default Corsa vs. Borla Cat-back Exhaust???

I'm expecting to get my vette in within the next 2 weeks and I NEED an exhaust, the only thing is which one??? I heard the sound clips for the Corsa Sport and all I have to say is WOW. Unfortunately, Borla doesn't have any clips of its exhaust and I have no idea what it sounds like. Bottom line is, if it were up to you which exhaust would you get???

Think Borla is a little deeper, not sure about the dreaded drone. I went with corsa because I know they don't have the drone.

My car is coming soon and I am either going with the GHL or Corsa. From some of the posts I have read, the GHL are very similar to Borla with less drone. Which trans are you getting in your C6, the Corsa sports will not work with the A6. I have read Corsa is working on a new exhaust for the C6.

No drone on my GM Borla exhaust and I love them.

They must redesigned them from the C5 systems, Borla's droned on C5's.

I got the Corsas myself. Was leaning towards them anyway due to their sound (just personal taste), but then got a good price on the Corsa Sports and the decision was made.

Here's a vid I did a while back that compares stock, Borla touring w/x-pipe (140129) and the B&B Rt66.

wow, thanks a lot for the vid. After hearing the difference, I tihnk the BB rt66 sounds better then the Borla touring w/ x-pipe. I still think the corsa sport is the meanest one because ive yet to hear the borla stinger for the c6. My vette comes in the middle of march so i got some time to decide.

No prob! The Rt 66 is the next step up on loudness from the Borla Touring. I am still yet to hear the corsas to compare. If anyone sees this and is near central NC, look me up and I will add Corsa to the video. Best I can tell, the louder the exhaust the more drone. Those that have the corsa swear there is no drone. Since I have not seen it for myself, I cannot contest that. However, I can tell you that people have said the Rt66 had no drone and I promise you that it did. Same for the Borla touring but it wasn't too bad at all and I have a low tolerance for drone.

Great vid and audio. I'm surprised. The factory system doesn't sound that bad. Only at idle does it sound tame. The Rt66 sounded like something wasn't right when the throttle was bliped and the Borla's really sounded nice.

Thanks for sharing.

Tom

The factory exhaust is actually pretty good (to me). I did an audio file once asking people what the exhaust was. Most people guessed the corsa. It was the stock exhaust.

Not to mention I think the Corsa Sport tips fill the exhaust hole a little better. But then again, it's all taste.

Ended up with the Corsa Sports myself...wouldn't change a thing.

Especially at low RPM. Not too bad after around 2000rpm.

Yep, the stock exhaust is an amazing piece of engineering. They got low restriction and no drone (that's hard to do). It is very civilized, with a pleasant, but not overly loud, sound, and without any performance penality. If you want the car to "talk", and still not drone, then the best thing to do is put headers on the car and keep the stock exhaust. That is, unless header "ringing" annoys you. That's another can of worms.

On Corsa's website it states * For 2006, 6-speed manual transmissions applications only. Not automatics. Any truth to this?

ya i went to the corsa website just now and i saw the "For 2006, 6-speed manual transmissions applications only" so i would imagine the trans somehow gets in the way.

Stock system is OK but tips are way to small. Corsa tips are much larger and look a lot better, also Corsa Sport at cruising speed you are more than capable of carrying on normal conversation.
