Can anyone tell me what is the safe HP/Torque limit the rear end and tranny will handle on an A4/C6? Also has anyone had the tune done at Texas Speed and what were your thoughts on that, worth it, problems?
I'm not an expert in this field by any means, however I have heard that the A4/A6 transmission is safe up to 500 horse and 500 torque, give or take. Lingenfelter offers auto transmission upgrades for any mods that push the car over 500 horse.
Once again, I am not sure on the exact numbers, but I think this is a good estimate. Don't rely on this information to be accurate to do mods, as I take no responsibility for anything that may go wrong.

It all depends on traction, doesn't it. At 400hp, in first gear, your applying around 3600ft-lbs of torque to the rear axles (400*3*3). If you put slicks on your car, you can brake a diff with a stock engine if you abuse it enough.
Use your head, avoid abuse, and you'll be fine. I've never broken a drivetrain part with constant 7500rpm shifts, and 550hp.
