The zinc wash must come off the pad contact area for the brakes to work properly. and the stock rotors are actully flat black in the non-pad contact area soo zinc washing may not be a good idea.
and so far the only pads are teh Carbotech racing pads XP10, XP11 or XP12 which they are ok for occational street use.
The first time you step on the brakes the contact arae will be burnished off.
I am talking about zinc WASHING not PLATEING there is a big difference.
Even eastwood makes a product called oxysolve that you can use to zinc wash then wipe some solvent on the pad contact area.
Making a big assumption the dealer will have what you need in stock. Best bet is to have it with you.
This is true today but in a year most dealers will have the stuff in stock. Also the price is right for making repairs. And I don't care if it's GM stuff or Aftermarket that is WAY to HIGH it's all fails after a while.
