Which suspension parts need to be taken apart to install Zip lowering bushings? I lowered it all the way on the stock bushings and I want a little more. Really don't want to get into cutting my bushings as I did on my C5. Did anyone else end up with a very uneven lowering at the 4 corners by simply going to max? By the time I even it out (and keep a 5mm rake), one side will be lowered almost nothing!
The ZIP bushings are replacements for the stock ones, which means you'll have to cut those off. If you want to avoid the cutting, then get the lowering bolts from WCC. They come like the factory bolts but with the thinner bushing.
Either way, you'll have to remove/install the bolts, which means dropping the lower control arm. The method reccomended in the instructions is removing the 2 bolts at the arm's pivot points, and undoing the end link on the anti-roll bar. That will allow you to pull the control arm far out enough that the bolt will clear it.
On mine, the front is dead even, and the back is off (left to right) by about 1/16''. A lot of the cars came from the factory very close to the lower range of ride height adjustment (at least in the rear since that is the limiting factor). I'm not suprised at all that you can barely lower it on factory bushings.
