Exhaust removal
For those that have switched to aftermarket exhaust primarily just the mufflers, did you have trouble with the welded on clamps? Did the muffler pipe slide out OK and did your new pipe go in easy. I'm getting ready to swap my stock exhaust with Borla Sports aka Stingers. Also, did you have to take the hangers off to get the mufflers off? Thanks.
it can be difficult to get the pipes apart. I had to disconnect the front of the h-pipe to get enough "play" to get them out. Also, you need to be able to get the stock muffler hangers out of the rubber hangers, in order to rotate the muffler pipe out of the h-pipe.
They are snug, but no cutting or hammering required. My corsa pipes fit back in quite loosely, but seems to have tightened down fine.
I too had to play with it a bit to pull off the H-pipe from the over-axle pipes. But installing, they slid on easily. When you drop the front of the H-pipe, that rear connection will want to bend so that the pipes aren't parallel to each other, so hold them straight and they'll slide off with a bit of wiggling.
And for the rubber hangers, as per the suggestion of other forum members, it was much easier to unbolt the bracket that they are mounted on, and then remove/install the rubber piece onto the hangers while the exhaust is off.

I agree, you'll have a much easier time if you drop the front pipes first, after that, it's easy. Take the bolts out of the clamps, bend the clamp out of the way and stick a screwdriver in the groove of the midpipe, then twist the screwdriver to open up the grove a little. Mine slid right out, of course I had an advantage, my car only has 100 miles on it...
