Default LPE Intake Installed

I just finished installing my LPE intake
Let me tell you it is a PAIN in the Azz trying to get the shroud out of the car.

It took me 2 nights but came out perfect.
It looks real factory like but the only thing that is bothering me is how do i clean the air filter in an easy manner
It seams like i will have to take the whole thing apart to get the filter out to clean it !

I will post some pics later

Don't have to take the whole thing apart, just the airbox. At least we don't have to remove-reinstall the radiator shroud again.

Hi Bill

I'm gald you liked the finished product, the shroud is definatly a pain, but there's not really a way around that. The good news is, like Hal pointed out, that you don't have to remove it again, just dissassemble the airbox to acces your filter for cleaning.
Let me know what you think when you have a chance to drive or dyno the car.

Thanks
It does look great and the fit and finish is great as well.
In my opnion it looks really stock without pointing it out.
I see what you are saying about cleaning the filter.
I only do 3 to 5 thousand miles a year so i should only have to clean it once a year.

And now i see your point about Hydrolock too
There is NO way you can suck up water unless you drive theoy a 9 to 12 in deep puddle.
You would have water above your fog lights and door jamb :ekk:
for this to happen and that would be the least of your problems at that point !

IMO, Vararam is worse! Good luck! They sent the wrong instructions and template with mine. Kept telling me to keep trimming. After several hours of trimming and fitting, I finally slipped and took out the AC condenser ($365.00)! Vararam sent me a precut shroud and a replacement lower section of the ram air unit(it was coming apart).
Put the new shroud in with the new AC cond. and the damn shroud was cut too small! Had to trim it also! Another thing I don't like about the Vararam is that it is not a sealed install. Seems like a lot of trash can now get into the engine compartment. I put several of the BPP units on C5's and really liked the sound. I don't notice much difference, if any, with the Vararam.
