I just purchased my first Corvette. A 2006 Coupe. Now I seem to have a tiny little problem. The car will shut off while I am driving it. It does not occur while I am driving on a highway but sometimes, like 8 times since I got the car 2 days before Christmas, it will just shut off. Just like you reached down and pushed the starter button to turn it off,, but of course I am not doing that. Any ideas out there?

I just have one issue with your problem - THAT IS NOT A "TINY" PROBLEM. I'd call that pretty major. Steering and brake boost suddenly gone! I wouldn't want that to happen going into a turn, or coming up on stopped traffic. I'd have that puppy into the dealership muueeey pronto!
If you don't have such long legs that you could actually be doing it with your knee by accident, I'd take it to the dealer ASAP. It would probably be helpful for you to recall exactly what was going on inside & outside the cabin when it happened, so you can tell your dealer.
Get that car back to the dealer and make sure they know how major a problem it is. Your car cutting off could put you in extreme danger even if you're just moving through an intersection at 20 MPH.

Interesting first post. I have some swamp land for all those who think this is legit.
Well I am new to owning a Corvette and I am new to this forum. It is in the shop, I have also opened an issue with Cheverolet. This is the second time the car has been in the shop since I got it. It took two days but the service rep says the tech got it to fail for them. He says there have been two reported cases in the country. It appears to be in the wiring harness that controls the cam. They are trying to find the short or whatever is causing it.
I wish this was made up, 53K and they have had the car for a week.

Wiring harness that controls the cam? Do we have VTEC in our cars?
