LG headers or Kooks

If I add Kooks headers, how much louder will I be?
preference is not much, the Borlas attract enough attention.
Another big consideration for me is customer service. When I am spending $1700 for a product that requires installation I woant to some guidance if needed. I found that Anthony, Sean, and others at LG Motor sports are actually hands-on guys when it comes to the install and can advise you on every and any question regarding installing of headers. That is invaluable in any product in my book! Not that headers are difficult to install, by any means, however I did have a question regarding routing of the O2 sensor wires and torque pattern and they had the answers with one simple phone call. (Many have even seen Lou himself answer questions on this forum). Perhaps other header mfg co’s offer the same technical knowledge with their phone staff, I wouldn’t know. I can only say I was impressed which is unusual in today’s business climate.
As far as the check engine light goes, yes you can get a CEL because the cats relocation/temp adjustment etc. However the computer relearns itself over time and will eventually quite throwing a code. Or, as most people should do, get your C6 tuned/dyno and program the O2 sensors so there is no issue wih CEL any longer. Lastly, ceramic coating (jet hott, etc) will provide relief for the CEL issue I am told. However I have no experiance with Ceramic coating on LG's to prove whether true or not.

Actually, I just found it. The pic is from LM performance web site.

After much thought and research, i decided to go with the LG Longtube Headers. Like you I also checked the forum and found that LG had more positive feedback, and not to mention that LG Motorsports is about 5 miles from my house. Also, Anthony, Bobby and all the guys at LG made me feel confident about trustin a $46,000.00 car with them. Attached is a Dyno run with LG Longtube Headers and a tune.................................Man ny

I am only 3 miles from Springfield...it is my civic duty to break in the 403 for you. I promise to not exceed the speed limit, spin the tires, rev the engine, or other performance based testing.
Trust me!
Ill even make you a video and send it to you
hehe

Peter
Can you run the car without a tune?
The reason I ask is that I am doing my headers soon and want to wait a few weeks till I do the cams to get a tune ..

The cats go up the front not at the back
Someone put this together wrong on the floor

Look at this
See the off road pipes in the front( this is where the cats would go )
this is the correct way

correct.
If you run with NO cats, then put the X pipe directly behind the collectors. But if you run Cats, then the Cats go before the X pipe.
We pride ourselves on making torque without losing measurable top rpm hp. We could not road race without this long of a header for the low end torque pulling out of the slow corners. Driving on the street is not unlike a road race track.
Our Merge collectors do help the top end to not lose power but a shorter header without a Merge can make more peak hp but lose some bottom end.
The key to our X pipe is that is is a parallel/siamese X pipe, which means that the exhaust has an outlet, and crossover without having the exhaust pulses "CRASH" into each other causing flat spots.
Even on the new 427 cu in 7 liter Z06, we made over 550rwhp and 516 rwtq in a new Z06, so the headers are not limited even with a big cu in engine.
So I also think we have the record for the fastest Corvette with these headers on a road course.
Thanks and I hope this helps.
Lou Gigliotti LGM
