Scan tool The dic can not do this as in c5. It also needs a candi modual to inter face with tech 2. It takes a lot longer to do any diag.

You will need another tool from Bartec to do this. I got one about a year ago from them and they had special pricing for forum members but am not sure today. The magnet like we all used on the C5 doesn't work on the C6.

http://www.autobarn.net/equ3030.html

Its 80 bucks and reads CAN vehicles. A predator can reset the codes too and has scan and tuning capability. Get it from a vendor that does custom tunes though if you are modded.

I just got a Bartec tool $300 now, but it only takes about 1 min. to
relearn the sensors.

If you already have an Actron SuperScan, you can order the upgrade kit to read CAN protocol. Just go to the Actron website.

This is what I'm going to buy for $60 - http://www.diydiagnostics.com/

I do miss the C5's ability to access and clear codes. These cars can throw a code with a passing cloud.

Tom, the website does not mention if it works on the CAN protocol. I suspect it does not. Check it out before you buy.

About 3 months ago I had some mods done including mild cam and heads. After 400 miles I got the check engine light. Then, about two days of driving, the code cleared up. Does the computer adapt to mods after awhile? Thanks

The Innova scan tool I bought at Wal-Mart can clear the codes on the C6. Let me know if you need the part number. ($60)

I use the Innova 3110 it is CAN compatible. Be careful Walmart also sells the Innova 3100 which is not CAN compatible and does not work on the C6.

Thanks for the tip, this was provided by a fellow C6'er. I better do some homework.

One web site lists it's MSRP at $299.00.

the ecm/pcm will continue to run the check that it failed, and if it pass that same test for number of times, it will reset the cel without having you doing it. so it doesn't really adapt mods after awhile...it will
actually see more air coming in and out though various sensors right away and add more fuel to stay within factory fuel ratio (it will "adapt" it's lt and st fuel trims over time, due to your mods, but that is a small adjustment)
