Many of you have had their exhaust systems changed. My only question is, where did you have the work performed? I just purchased a set of B&B Bullets and would like some feedback as to who would install these things as I do not have a lift. Are you guys using Midas,
or a dealer, or speciality shop? I live in Bel Air, Maryland if there are specific recommendations...
Are you near a military post? I use any Army post they have full lifts and tools.
Midas would be able to do it ...but beware. I showed up with an exhuast there once and got the ole "Wow thats a fancy exhaust its going to cost a lot more than I thought"

Thanks Val, I am near a base....didn't even think of that. But don't you have to be an active duty member to use that? I will check that out. I hear ya about the Midas thing. I think in general, when people see Vette, they think you have a lot of money to spread around...

If you can find a dealer that is "Vet Friendly", then that's the way to go.....I had a GHL exhaust and Z51 sway bars installed for $225.00. A dealer familiar with Corvettes is less apt to cause you any problems, even in something as basic as lifting the car !!!
To use the facility ...eh it depends. To get on post you just need a DL and registration, and proof of ins. Yesterday I was there and they didnt ask to see anything.....I will never pay for exhaust work....thats money towards other parts.
Check the regional section of the forum for your area. I bet you could find a few local forum members that would be glad to give you some assistance in changing them out.
I can change them myself - with no help, in my garage using jack stands. Takes me about 90 minutes start to finish. That includes unbolting and taking off the "H" pipe and everything. If nothing else, that should give you and idea of what a shop should charge.

I just picked up a Z06 Ti Exhaust for my C5...do you know how high to lift the rear end to remove the stock exhaust and install these? They are in one piece.

The C5's are hard to do on jack stands. They have to go higher than a C6. I've heard of it being done, but the pictures are really scary.

Cost me $70 to have my Corsa Sports installed by a local muffler shop that does custom exhaust systems. They also did my C5, but hadn't done a C6 yet. I watched the installation video on Eckler's Website and explained their procedure to the mechanic when he put it up on the lift. Took him about 45 minutes for the install. Corsas are engineered really nice: no cutting, good fit with stock H pipe or any aftermarket x pipe. At $70, it was worth every penny to have somebody else install the exhausts. HTH.
