Default Tire Pressure Sensors --- Need Help Retraining

Can someone logically provide some link or step-by-step in order to reset NEW tire pressure sensors. GM has not been able to reset my sensors and had me install new ones at my cost. They still cannot train them. Please note that sensors are banded to custom wheels. Where would tool need to be placed ?? Anyone actually familar with their tool , it appears to be a Tech 2 tool issued by GM?? (Sensors worked fine prior, and still working in rear, while banded same way)

I had them install new sensors into my vette with the new rims, for the first time I ran the car, it told me no-sensors detected. After the third time I drove the car, It did not say anything so I looked in the information center, and it gave pressures for all four of the tires. I think that it adjusts automatically.

I also on the last rims would rotate the back tires since the passengers side liked to burn up quicker when dragracing. It would take about a day, but then the computer would even compensate for which side the sensors were on, so I did not have to have them reprogrammed, and they still gave the correct reading from one side to the other.

It's not hard to do, not sure about the GM tool, I use Bartec but the
steps should be the same. Put car in learn mod thats in the owners
manual. Then you need to hold the tool inline with the sensor it
says to hold it right againt the wheel inline with sensor. Start with
LF-RF-RR-LR. Just make sure it is inline with sensor.

Correct Procedure and tool listed above. Just hold the Lock and Unlock buttons on the Fob til the car goes into learn mode before you start. The Sensors are bolted to the wheels with the valve stem. If you are using sensors that are 'banded' to the rim, they might not be the proper type.???

The dealer may not be getting the trigger close enough to the sensors in your banded wheels.

I have the sensors in stock wheels and I have to get my Bartec tool touching the tire sidewall directly below the valve stem to get the TPS to register. If I have the tool on the rim it won't work, the tool signal apparently isn't strong enough to trigger the sensor registration at that position.

You don't have to have air in the tires to register the sensors. So you could break the beads on your tires and place the tool close enough to the banded sensors so it will trigger the registration. You may have to have the wheels fairly close to the car so the door lock antenna can read the registration signal.

You could register the sensors while holding one in your hand for that matter, they don't have to even be in the wheels. You still need the GM tool or equivalent to trigger the registration.
