is it necessary to have my 06 vette retuned after i have headers put on? the only other mod right now is a halltech stinger. i here guys saying they had a tune before and then they had it tuned after? i live out here in sticks and there is nowhere close to have it tuned, so i am tryig to fugure out whether i should go for the headers or leave it alone.
thanks burt, does anyone know of anybody that has tried flowmaster new catback system for the c6? would like to get some information the system. thanks again burt

necessary? no.

i thought i read that someone in ohio already had some software for the 06s. i which case you would just take care of your tune via mail.

Mine isnt tuned and it runs fine. (Dynatech Headers and stinger intake)
What tuning it will do is fully allow you to take advantage of all the new air coming into your car. Timing, Air/Fuel ratios, etc..all will be adjusted to your cars new mods.
It will gain power without a tune....but you wont get all of if.
Plus the car feels alot more responsive after a tune.
I am trying to find a place around here that will tune for less then 700.00 .....MAYO
You dont need a tune to get more power.Mine yeilded 26hp/26tq with lg lt and borla catback.I dont know of anyone tuning right now for the 06 anyway.I also have a check engine light on because of the headers so be aware you cant get rid of that without a tune.runs great otherwise

Would that hurt if you got the car inspected? In NY now if your SES light is on the car willl fail.

check and see if Jerry Formatto is gonna be in the area anytime soon. that dood travels a ton and always brings his tuning gear with him. i was gonna meet him a CaC last year and he was gonna do the tune for @ $400. Zip in Richmond is also another place to check, but you have about a 55 minute trip down 95 to get there. great guys down there too. give them a ring and ask for Abbott.
Dynojet 248, SAE corrected. After I did the intake (the last thing modded) I got a CEL but the computer "learned" the new parameters after 6-8 battery disconnects and a couple of fuse removals and 3 tanks of gas. No codes now.
I do wish the final commercial version of HP Tune would make it to the tuners.
