Default New Callaway SuperCharged Corvette, 560 bhp

Callaway has just released a new 560 hp SuperCharged C6 package similar to the SuperNatural naturally-aspirated 490 and 550 hp packages. It's also available as a supercharger-only installation. I've attached some literature below.

One option that's not mentioned in this literature yet is a Z06 fender/fascia package that we're offering. Price is $6,695 for the Coupe Kit, $7,695 for the Convertible Kit when purchased with the SuperNatural or SuperCharged C6. The Kits include front carbon fiber Z06 fenders, rear Z06 OEM material fenders, Z06 front fascia and required inner fenders and bracketry.

If you're considering a Z06, this is an excellent alternative. Especially if you want paddle-shift or drop-top.

For more info, ask here, e-mail me at mvendetto@callawaycars.com
or call (860) 434-9002, 8:00-5:00 Eastern US time, Mon-Fri.

Can you tell us more about the cost of the two options; 490 vs. 560? Do you have any pics with the hood that would be used?

Does this have to be done by you, or can a local installer do the project if we live far away?

Craig, go to the Callaway website and look at the prices before you get too excited. The prices quoted are for the fender/facia.

Naturally-aspirated:
SuperNatural 490 hp Package: $13,950.
SuperNatural 550 hp 7.0L Package: $30,900.

Supercharged:
SuperCharged 560 hp Package: $16,995.

The above packages include Callaway badging and authenticity documentation, as well as other Callaway-branded components as listed in the literature. All of these packages are installed at the Old Lyme, Connecticut factory. If you buy a new Corvette, the Chevy dealer can coordinate shipping the car from the dealership or directly from the Bowling Green assembly plant to Callaway for modification.

If you want to have a local shop do the installation, you certainly may. The SuperNatural and SuperCharged Callaway badging is not available separately, but all other parts are:
The 490 hp powertrain components (PowerGroup 1, 2, and 3) are priced at $9,810.
The 550 hp/7.0L SuperNatural crate engine is priced at $26,300.
We're not offering a Supercharger in kit form for C6 yet as a standardized calibration is not ready to release to the marketplace.

The 'Callaway SuperCharged Corvette' packages have just been released.
I'll have all package details on the www.callawaycars.com website early next week.

Seems there are lots of people just getting the wider rear fender so they can put more meat down in back.

Callaway doesn't offer a Z06 rear fender option. There is an issue with installing Z06 rear fenders while keeping non-Z06 front fenders. The flat area at the lip surrounding the wheelwell opening is narrower on the Z06 fenders compared to the non-Z06. If you change the rear fenders only, the side view looks a bit weird. I attached some photos of a big-fender convertible that we're building so you can see what I mean.

We're using all GM parts for our Z06 Body Option. If there's enough demand for a rear-fender-only Kit, we could potentially tool up for new rear fenders that match the fronts cosmetically while maintaining the Z06 basic dimensions to accommodate wider wheels and tires. The Kit would also require new GM inner fenders, vent bezels and brake cooling ducts. What do you think a fair price should be?

Understood, but that's not the question.

The issue with the Vert panels is the upper area by the door is narrower than the coupe. This area needs to be cut, remolded for the tonneau cover and reinforced.

Since you are already apparently doing this modification for a vert kit it would seem reasonable you would offer this option for somebody who only needs the rear render panels.

You're right, the upper area does require modification to fit the convertible. There is another section of the coupe fender that has to be modified to fit a convertible. The top of the fender, where it attaches to the car, is flat on the coupe. The mounting surface in the convertible has a kicked-up section, about 1/4 inch high, about 6 inches long, so the coupe fender doen't seat properly unless it's sectioned. The convertible fender has a raised section on the flange to match the mounting surface. This is all invisible from the outside with the trunk closed.

Maybe I was being unclear. The reason we don't plan to offer a rear-only kit using the GM fenders is because the flat around the wheelwell opening is narrower on the Z06 fender, not because of the mod you mentioned that's required adjacent to the tonneau. I've attached some photos of a partially mocked-up convertible with Z06 fenders so you can see the difference in appearance that we're concerned about. Am I understanding you properly? When you write "that's not the question", do you mean that we're overreacting to the mismatch in fender appearance, with the rear fender wheelwell opening looking different than the front?

The 550 hp SuperNatural is naturally aspirated (no supercharger). So we couldn't specify a value for "boost". Instead of supercharging, we use increased displacement to achieve the power objective. In this case, 7.0L or 427 cid.

Callaway offers three options for the C6:
1) SuperNatural 490
naturally aspirated (no supercharger), using the original 6.0L LS2 short block, adding new cylinder heads, cam and valvetrain components and intake and exhaust mods.
2) SuperNatural 550
naturally aspirated (no supercharger), using a new 7.0L/427 cid GM Motorsport block-based engine with premium quality internals and similar cylinder heads, cam and valvetrain components and intake and exhaust mods.
3) SuperCharged 560
Roots-style Eaton supercharger installed on the stock 6.0L LS2 engine. No other internal engine mods are required.

Callaway provides authenticity documentation when we install the above packages. The cars become "Callaway SuperNatural" or "Callaway SuperCharged" Corvettes. If the whole package isn't desired, most of the components are also available individually.

I am interested in the Power Group 1,2 & 3 but want to replace your exhaust with a Corsa, what is the savings to omit the Double D from the order? Please forgive me, but appearance of the Double D exhaust is unappealing to me.

Understood, Z, no apology necessary.
To omit the Double-D exhaust, you'd be purchasing the Honker only @ $390. instead of $1,425 for PowerGroup 1. There would be a net savings of $1,045.
