I thought the 45057 was the updated version of the 45044. Was there a change in the shifter design on the 05 and 06 ?

I have been told by a forum vendor that this part # is not the 'Ripper'. Does anyone know the part # for it?

You don't want the ripper, the ripper is the old version that everyone complained about.

Ed, do you know what the differances are between the ripper and the new one, other than the **** mounting provisions?

I'm just idly curious. I have new one on order.

This is interesting because the 45057 fit the previous 6 speed applications. Why doesn't it work on the 06 application.

Hurst uses the same p/n on all applications.

I just got off the phone with B&M and they said that the 45044 new version was designed to be more "streetable" by adding the isolator to the shaft and smoothing out the shifting whereas the 45057 can be used on the C6 without any problem but you will find the shifting more notchy going from gear to gear - like a click out of gear and a click into the next gear.

The one I had in my C5 never gave me any problem, I just wanted to be able to use it in my new car without having to buy another shifter.
