Are these the same thing or if not what is the difference?

Not the same. Torque management limits torque output to protect the drivetrain and doesn't care about wheel spin.

Traction control detects rear wheel spin and cuts power to control the spin.

And active handling also ties the G and yaw sensor in for even more restriction.

As stated above, TM limits actual output, and could care less if the tires are spinning, sticking or if you are sliding backward into a ditch.

could some explain to me the proper way to turn them off in 2006 vette with a automatic, some one on the fourm mentioned how to disengage these items with the button in center console. thanks burt ps-(torque mangement,traction control,active handling)

Torque Management can only be disabled by reprogramming the ECU (for example, with HPTuners, LS2Edit, Predator, etc). TC and AH can be disabled completely by holding down the center console button for >5 seconds. It will beep and indicate that Traction Control and Active Handling are OFF on the DIC.

If you just push it once, you're only disabling Traction Control - not Active Handling.

I heard the >5sec doesnt work in the new Z06. I know the Z06 I drove on track at CMP was a pig with the AH engaged.
