Can't seem to find sound clip of GHL exhaust system, seems to be pretty popular on this forum, can someone please post . Thank you......

 

I can tell you...they iz loud! Watch out for the drone dragon.

 

Are you speaking from experience or what you've heard on this board?

They are mildly aggressive but certainly not loud, a nice throaty gurgle. They are much quieter than Bullets and slightly quieter than Borla Stingers. Slightly louder than Magnaflow 15884 (Magnaflows are smoother and GHL's are throatier). Do they drone, yes. Are they the worst I've heard no.

there used to be some sound clips on this forum but they are probably too old and you won't find them on a search. Go to LS1 sounds and listen to the clips of GHL Bullets on a stock C5. You'll get the idea, its pretty close to the LS2 sounds. And yes, I have GHL's.

I have GHL's on my 04'Z06. They are so loud that I'll be selling them shortly. I have the Corsa Sport on my C6 and the sound is just right. Even with headers.

 

bunch of puzzys they arent to loud and the drone isnt too bad either with a manual trans, I never run below 2k rpm so it isnt a problem

its not quite stock but in all seriousness i do like the ghl exhaust and like i said the drone isnt to bad for ME only because i never cruise below 2krpm

 

I ordered the GHL exhaust for my A6, I should receive it in a couple of weeks, They re-worked the exhaust for the C6 with A6 trans to get rid of the drone.

Here is my take on things:

I have heard the GHLs on an A4 automatic, the GHLs on a manual tranny, the B&B Bullets on my A4 automatic, and the Magnaflow #15884 on my A4 automatic.

The Magnaflows are probably the sound most people want, automatic or manual tranny. It is a smooth V8 hum, not super aggressive, with no drone.

For an automatic A4 version, the #15884 Magnaflows are the ONLY way to go.

The GHLs are OK, they don't sound any better on an A4 autmatic, but they drone 20% of the time which is annoying.

The GHLs on a manual tranny sound great, throaty, but they do drone 20% of the time, you can shift your way around it some of the time. I would say if you buy the new A6 auto tranny, you could also paddle-shift your way around it and still make it sound great by manually shifting it. On the A4 auto tranny the GHLs just have a bassy hum that is not great.

The Bullets are just TOO LOUD and TOO DRONEY with the A4 auto tranny. Stay away from it. It will drone 90% of the time although from outside the car it sounds GREAT.
With a 6 speed manual or auto you could shift your way around it, but it will still drone at least 50% of the time if not more.

I think you will like it, it is nowhere near the drone of a Bullet sustem, definitely liveable and when manually shifted it has a throaty growl.

I like my GHLs, but I'll say it one more time: You can't judge an exhaust system by a clip. You have to be in the car to really know how it sounds and feels. Resonance can't be reproduced in a clip, and that's the biggest complaint about catbacks. Go somewhere that Vettes congregate and sit in the car or ride around.

 

I don't think my C6 with 500 miles on it has been below 2K RPM's, except for in the garage
