Is This Normal?
Hello everyone, Just like to thank those in advance who reply to this post. A little info., I just purchased an 06 vert Z-51 after owning an 02 TR C5Z. Both are excellent in thier own right. Now my question is when going through the gears mostly between the 2000 and 3500 rpm range I heard a slight exhaust rumble (or something similiar) coming from the motor. It sounds like it is coming from under the motor area. Not sure if this is the way this new motor should sound or if I may have other issues, or if i'm just still use to my Z. Note, car has 500 miles and runs excellent. oh yeah, I don't hear the noise when I give it a little gas when I'm in neutral.

I have some slight vibrations and rumbles in mine when cruising on the highway at about 80. I hear a rattle but I also have a short shifter adn LG headers with a vararam intake. I am not that concerned but I have heard similair things to your complaint.

I hear something similar with mine. It's an 05 Vert. What my noise is though is just the cam starting to work and the rumble is coming out the rear pipes, not from the engine area. When not in gear and without any torque on the engine, it doesn't make the sound. This may not be what you hear, but sounds very similar. I kind of like the rumble I hear...
