Tech Manual Input-Wheel Offset

I assume that the proper offset is a standard measurement, and that all wheel manufacturers have to meet the particular mean distance from the hub. What is the correct offsets for the front and the rear? Is there any leeway? (ie. Is + or - 10 mm a workable variance?)
Thanks.

Front 18x8.5 - 58
Rear 19x10 - 79
Those are the numbers directly off my stock OEM C6 wheels.
So offsets are 58mm front and 79mm rear.
Hope that helps

If you are going to a wider rim, knowing total backspacing is more useful for visualizing how the wheel will fit. If you are going with stock widths, than you have a lot of leeway. You can go up to 30mm (maybe more) away from stock without any problems, although it might look funny if the tires are too far in or out.
