I dont remember the size but its a straight forward bolt on. It can be easier to drop the mufflers by unbolting the rubber hangers in back and then pulling them off the muffler on the ground rather than trying to pop the mufflers off them while they are in place. Then move the rubbers over to the corsas and you can get the bolts started while holding the muffler in place. They can hang on those while your hooking the rest up. Its also easier to get the mid section broke when your trying to pull the stock mufflers off. It is not easy to reach the forward end of the mid section with just the rear lifted up. Can be done but its tight. Make sure you get everything aligned before you tighten up the bolts. My came lose twice at the clamp on the over the axle to mid section and I took it in and had a couple spot welds put on at midas. Just took a minute.

Ah, piece of cake. Forgot to mention the first time, you wont need gaskets. Might need to do a little tapping with a mallet to part the over the axle from the mid section but it should come apart pretty easy. Isnt much to say about the installation, there are no gotchas to worry about. Just remember you will still need to check your muffler alignment before you tighten up and adjust accordingly.

Why are you adding the X. Been thinking about adding an X myself to my GHL's in hopes of reducing drone. Popping on decel does not bother me, enjoy it actually. Just not sure if it will help the drone or not and therefore haven't pulled the trigger yet.

I am putting it on in part because I got a great deal on it used. Thanks c6raptor! There was a post a while back that discussed the pros and cons of an x pipe. The h pipe we have not only causes the poping on decel but does not function at the mid to higher rpm as gas will not make the right angle turn. If you plan on putting headers on then an x pipe is a waste as it most likely will not fit. I don't plan on headers. Supposedly it deepens the sound sl and yields sl quicker midrange response and a few hp. for what I spent on it ... it was a no brainer. here is a great x pipe thread from the forum whay an x pipe

You are gonna miss the popping on decel, my car is at 1700 miles and I noticed it started popping really nice, in my opinion, it sounds awesome!

14 or 15 mm, I know the aftermarket clamps use 14mm. I can't remember if the stockers were the same or not.

X-pipe is a waste of money if you intend to put headers on later. Headers have the cats welded in the X-pipe.

Thanks but at this point I don't intend to do headers. I have been down the road of a heavily modified car( turbo supra) and think I am not going to modify this one that much.

Other than changing the sound, some would argue that changing out the stock H pipe for an x pipe doesn't buy you a whole lot (Chevy went to a lot of trouble to redesign the C6 exhaust system...it is one of the contributors to the increased HP and torque over the LS1 motor). I think (but could be wrong) that they corrected one of the C5 exhaust problems by finally making the H pipe the same inner diameter as the rest of the exhaust (for the life of me, can't figure out why Chevy didn't do that on the C5, but, hey, what do I know???). I put Corsa Sports on my C6 (had both Corsa exhausts and x pipe on my C5), and then deciced I liked the sound so didn't buy the x pipe. If you install the x pipe, it will alter your sound, but won't do squat from a performance standpoint (I have yet to see anyone post any dyno results showing more than 5 HP at the most by changing out the mufflers and the H pipe - headers seems to be the best HP/torque gain available for the C6 exhaust side). By the way, concur that it's a relatively easy unbolt/bolt replacement, and since you already have it, you can install and see how you like it. Another tip: if you need to loosen the mufflers from their hangers in order to drop the H pipe, try putting a little liquid soap on the metal muffler tabs that secure the mufflers to the hangers - they should slide out relatively easy, and then you won't have to unbolt the hangers. Since you won't be completely removing the mufflers, there should no reason to unbolt and drop the swaybar. HTH

Stock H pipe is true crossover with the same size piping. Zero power to be had. Check Ecklers site for a free video install on exhaust install. Hint, don't overtighten the front studs on the H pipe.
