Default Random Technology Converters

Anyone has any information on the Random Technology High Flow Converters. Only information I've found that they bolt on directly, replacement of your stock converters. Any hp figure or combination performance set up?

I got em. Did not do any before and after dyno so I wont know the power increase. Feels only a bit quicker but the true reward (for me) is it made my Corsa exhaust scream.

I was wondering if it made a change in sound, exactly what I was looking for. I'm thinking about going with the Melrose header combo with stock mufflers.

DJackman -

Since I sold by B&B Bullets, I am craving a bit more sound at regular speeds than my Magnaflow catback provides.

Did the Random Tech cats give you more volume at regular throttle applications, or only at Heavy throttle.

The Magnaflows sound GREAT with the top and wondows up, but with the top down I need more sound during normal driving.

Fore58 and Yell03,

All what Ramdom did to the sound of the Corsa is amplified it. The loud "Euro" type. It did not cause any change in frequency, just louder. I even retain the No Drone Corsa in known for which Im glad it did. So think of it as a Corsa sport with an amplifier. The sound is louder from Idle all the way to redline. This is all I can say what Ramdom did to my Corsa, but as far as any other exhaust that you may put on, I have no say.

Also I got the Ramdom after I put the Corsa Sport on, so I never got to chance to hear the sound of Ramdom with my stock exhaust.

I know they have a good reputation with american cars, but in the 350z community they have an extremely high failure rate.

I remember someone put on the RT's with stock exhaust - woke them up just a little. Sounds like a smart idea - much less $ than cat backs, no drone, more power.....win, win deal!

I considered it, but I'm not going to do it, b/c my Borlas are loud enough for me. I'm afraid I might not like it any louder.

Yeah, but I'm contemplating on going with the header/RT combo and maybe that would give it a much better sound. Just looking for someone that had exactly done that.

While you are under there changing those go ahead and do the headers. Then you will see something wake up. WOW

I've got the Melrose headers with RT cats and the RT X-pipe. I kept the stock mufflers and tailpipes. The car is very quiet; almost too quiet. The headers really woke the car up though.

That was me. I have them and they are fine. No codes or anything and it just bumps the sound up a little bit. If you know the type of tinny sound that headers give you, the car picks up a tad bit of that as well but not major or of any real concern. No drone at all. No noticeable SOTP power increase either. I will tell you though that I dyno'd the car on a Mustang dyno with just those cats and K&N filters and pulled like 343HP and 329TQ which i am told on a Mustang dyno is pretty darn good. Didn't dyno before.

Thanks hiznhrz. Your infor was a tremendous help. What part of Maryland are you from? I just recently retired from Maryland and moved to Tampa, Fl. Just curious.

Do they have a CARB number? Are they legal in California in order to pass the smog tests here?
