Default Coolant temperatures

I was wondering what most of the rest of you guys are running temperature wise on your coolant. I feel that Mine is running hotter than it should be. While driving down the Highway I’m running 198 deg. If I pull in some place in line to get something to drink or eat it quickly jumps up to 210-215. Is this normal. A while back I tagged something in the road and took out some of the aero dynamic under the car. It has since been replaced but I was wondering if maybe the fan had some how become unplugged. All the wires for the horns and other things are on that side of the car.

What ambient outside temps? For warm temps, sounds about right with stock t'stat.

The coolant temp. on my 05 C6 usually runs about 198 deg. unless I'm on the interstate at 75 MPH, then it runs about 192-194.

If I get in a fast food line for 5 minutes or more, it'll slowly creep up to 205-210.

Sounds like yours is about right.

Dont worry all is normal,I idle in rush hour traffic at sometimes 217! the aluminum engine is designed to run hot.

Mine runs right at 195 with stock t-stat and never even sitting in traffic goes over 205 due to the fan being reprogrammed.

I have a 160 f stat ; once i get moving i maintain between 174-176 f on the coolant and between 196-202 f on the oil. This is between 1600-2500 rpms regardless of speed , regardless of outside air temp. and regardless whether the A/C is on or not, thus far. (the highest outside temp. since ive had the 2006 vette has been about 85 f.). When i had the factory stat, the coolant and oil temps were much higher.

192 to 212 so far, highway vs. traffic. Stock thermostat.

Does anyone know the optimum (coolant and oil) temperatures for the LS2, and why? I know what the manual says, but wonder how tuners feel.
