Default alignment guarantee?

Does anyone know the specifics on the GM guarantee on alignment?

I heard that they will re-align in 1st yea for free. confirm this?
more importantly, is there a mileage expiration?

The book, and the tour guide confirmed this, states 7500 miles. There is no time restriction, just mileage.

Default Speaking of alingment ...

Does anyone DIY alignments? If so, is it possible to purchase equipment for home? It would be nice to set the car up for track and back to street later.

don't trust a dealer for an alignment anyway. Go to a good tire shop, or check it yourself.

Here is my patented DIY guide.

If you take your car to the Dealer for an alignment all the Dealer will do (after making you wait all day) is tell you the car is correctly aligned to the GM specs. They won't tell you that the GM specs have a huge + or - allowance. Take it to a real alignment shop and have it set to the specs given in the FAQ, not + or - anything. Or better yet, tell the alignment tech what type of driving you do and he'll suggest correct caster, camber and toe.

I like your laser set up instead of strings.

I prefer to stick some blocks on the level with double sided tape so it hits the rim instead of the tires, but sometimes I'm a bit retentive.
