just do only the mufflers. save your money on the cat back, unless you might want to go back to stock someday.

I bought just the magnaflows and it sounds great, with little to no resonance or drone. I spent $215 installed. I have taken a couple people for rides and they commented that it is how the car should sound from the factory. I love it and it is better than spending $1k. Plus I picked up 8 RWHP and 8 RWTQ on the dyno from them

you sure know where to go to get that install......i must have gone to so many different places and no one would touch them...finally the last place after showing the pictures from cf they figure they can do the job and charge me $250 for 2 hrs of work...i do have drone at around 1500-1900 under partial accel, how come you don't have any? did you get the 2 1/2 or 2 1/4 mufflers? thanks

I got the 2 1/2", I said little resonance...it is about the RPM you are talking about, but I like the way it sounds, not nearly as loud as my B&B PRT's I had on my C5. Also, mine is a 6 spd, is yours an auto, as I have heard it is worse on the auto's. With a 6 spd, you can also drive around most of the drone that any of the aftermarket mufflers or systems produce...just change the gear. IMHO... Im very satisfied with the sound. And yes, i found a shop near my house that works on these and has installed several of them on other C6's. It only took them about 2 hrs to do.

i have a manual, to me the drone is louder in that rpm range then high rpm under wot...if your the same way....i would have like it louder in the upper rpm range instead of 1500-1900rpm. has your car gone any faster then 12.2x @ 115 yet with the magnaflow?

No, When it got cold the other day, i was having major traction problems. It dyno'd at 370 RWHP and 365 RWTQ with magnaflows and the tune. The worst pass without spinning was 12.40 and best without spinning was 12.26

370hp/365 is awesome for just the magnaflow mufflers and tune. Was that the hp tune? That's where I want to be with minor mods.

It was with LS2 Edit from MTI on the dyno. It got 12 RWHP and 12 RWTQ from the tune, and the other 8 from the mufflers.

Daren,

Which tips did you use? Can I use the stock tips, cut off and weld to the magnaflows?

You might consider Flowmasters...for 409.00 delivered to my house then another 130.00 & 1/2 hr. at Midas they were on. I am very happy with these...they look great with the larger single tips rather than double and there is no drone. I have a M6...maybe the autos are having the problem or possibly the pipes are touching the frame for those that are unhappy.

Here is what I had done:

2 Magnaflow muffles, model number 14336
Cut off stock mufflers at the inlet
Cut off stock tips at the outlet
Weld stock tips on the Magnaflow mufflers
Weld new mufflers at the orginal location

Install pics and before/after videos here

Does Midas sell the magnaflow mufflers plus installation of the stock tips?

I just ordered the Flowmaster cat back and will gut the cat and new front down pipes without the precats, I hope it’s loud!
