exhaust leak?
I just got my C6 at the end of March and with only 82 miles on it the left fuel pump went out. OK, fine it happens and the dealer arranged towing and did the service. Works fine. Now it sounds like a slight exhaust leak (a ticking noise). The funny thing is that I only hear it between 1500-2500 rpm. I am hesitant to take it back to the dealer because they scratched the heck out of the paint job which I am currently putting in many hours repairing. With only one day of driving it previous I'm not sure how the exhaust "should" sound. Would someone please listen closely to their exhaust and check if you have this ticking sound I described?

A bad fuel pump plunger can make a noise that sounds just like a noisy lifter. I just replaced one in one of my older Vettes. Start the car and put a listening device right against the fuel pump. (You can even use a screw driver). That will allow you to isolate the sound. It will sound like a ticking sound. Good luck.
