I understand the C6 fuel filter is in the gas tank and there is no recommended replacement time in the manual [unless I missed it].
What is so magical about a C6 gas filter that it never needs replacement ???
I agree this seems like a really bad idea. Someof us like to change the fuel filter every 50K or so. I wonder if GM has plans to put the oil filter as an internal part with no need for change?

I normally wouldn't even go more than 20-25k miles on a fuel filter before changing it, I hope this thing is like super filter or something.
Though I (and many others) may never even see/log that many miles total during my ownership of this car as well.
I am looking at a picture of the filter in the Service Manual on page 6-895. The design is different than what we have seen in the past. It is attached to the outlet fuel line in the left tank near the top. It is a paper element. The pickup in each tank has a woven plastic strainer on them.
It looks OK to me. I replace my fuel filters at the factory recommended time, usually 60,000 miles and I then cut them open and I rarely see anything in them.
