Default Do headers increase drone?

I have the B&B RT66 exhaust and X pipe on my C6 right now, and I love the sound except for the mild drone. It's not bad at all compared to other systems I've heard and owned in the past on other Corvettes, but I really don't want any more than I have now. I'm planning to add LG headers with cats later this month, but I'm concerned about the exhaust note. Louder is good, because the RT66 isn't all that aggressive anyway, but if I wind up with more drone I'll have to put a bullet in my head. I don't want Corsas.

So the question is, do headers increase drone/resonance, or just exhaust volume?

I just installed Headers, hi flow cats and the Xpipe on my 06 m6, last week,I have the GHL exhaust and found that the exhaust did get a lot louder but the drone did not, if anything it seems (to me) that the drone now is even less than what it was, just my feeling, but the car is a lot louder!

I just installed LGs (no cats) on my Z and left the stock mufflers because I really like the ability to open/close the baffles at will. The car kept the same basic tone, but it definately louder! Still "quiet" at cruise and screams at WOT!

It should not increase the drone. The note will get louder but the tone should be the same. Hopefully that make sense.

Thanks all, this is exactly what I wanted to hear! The B&B system is by far the best sounding and looking I've ever owned on any Vette, so I really want to keep it.

I just called LG to place my order. Should have them in about 2 weeks.

With some aftermarket exhaust, you get a hum in the 1500-1800 rpm area when the engine is under heavy load. It can be loud inside the cabin, and some find the noise annoying. Unfortunately, in my experience with Vette exhausts (Stock, Borla, Corsa, GHL, B&B), you can't have it all. Every system has positives and negatives, so you have to find the one that suits you best.

LT headers and X-pipe with stock mufflers give you the performance and sound but don't attract attention from the law. I considered purchasing GHL's but after puting header on I changed my mind. Under WOT I would be asking for trouble from Johnny law!
