Dead battery syndrome

Anybody have any expierence with DBS (dead battery syndrome)? Leaving the trans in reverse is not the issue. I thought I read something about a steering column lock issue.

Any advise would be helpfull.......

I've had the car for 17 months.no DBS and always lock the steering wheel.

I had several incidents of DBS in my 05 6 speed until I started locking the steering column. I also pulled Relay 46 (It's for European exports with headlight washers), There has been much discussion and many theories, including a faulty sensor that fails to read that the car is in reverse. All I can say is I have not had another DBS incident since making those changes. Almost 1 year now.
