Just came from local Chevy dealer, he is unable to program the GM sensors intalled in my HRE 540R's that I am running on an 05 coupe. I don't see any difference from the OE wheel, signal travels through the tire, not the wheel. Right?
Any one on the forum have similar experience and/or suggestions.
Think I will order a tool from Bartec and be done with it!
I had the same problem, sometimes the distance from the transmitter to the sensor is too far, my dealership could not program mine for a while, then i took my car to CCW and with some finesse they eventually programed the signal, wasnt to difficult tho, I just think my dealer was trying to use C5 transmitters or maybe a magnet
These are one of the sets of HRE’s I’m considering. I had them on my TT and loved them. Would love to see some pics when you get a chance. Hopefully somebody will be able to help you with the problem.

Here are my HRE 541 wheels.
I had one problem with a sensor leaking. When I removed the valve stem cap, the valve stem must have come loose and started to leak a the wheel. I had to tighten it with a wrench. It leaks everytime I try to remove the stem cap, so I keep a wrench in the glove box. The front tires seemed to have been switched sometime during service. Otherwise, all the sensors work fine.

The "valve stem" serves as the antenna. Also, I read where it is important to have a valve stem cap, such as the OEM valve cap, that is electrically conductive.
Some of the "logo" valve caps are chrome plated ABS, and it is possible that then may decrease the signal strenth. Just a thought.

Thanks, you bring up an interesting point re: "valve stem" serves as the antenna. I would have never given that much thought regarding electrically conductive valve stem caps. Information is appreciated.
