Does anyone know why my check engine lite went on this morning and is still on?(the little yellow picture of an engine) theres no info on the DIC!!!! I had Horsepower sales put on my Kooks L.T.'s /Hi-flow cats 3 monthes ago and never had any codes go off, ever!!(I also have a Hallteck SSm intake filter) Since the car has 17,000 miles and is still under warranty will I get the run around from the dealer?
If the dealer finds that the Check engine light is related to the modifications, then they will charge you for the dianostic and repair.
But given your mods here are the possibilites:
First check your gas cap, it might be loose. Uncap it and retightned.
Second, make sure that the MAF sensor on your intake is Snapped back on real good.
Your 02 sensors and wirings. You have four 02 sensors that can be affectted since All 4 or them had to be extended and rerouted.
And then there are the High flow cats, if your cats are no good, then the CEL will turn on.
To avoid dealership just go to an Auto parts store and pick up an OBD II reader and it will tell you why the check engine light is on.

Hit your OnStar button. They will read the code, AND tell you what it means in English.
