I tried opening my car without the FOB by first putting the key in the hatch keyhole above the license plate and turning it. It only turns slightly and it still wont open. I also tried pushing the trunk outside button while turning the key and still no entry. What am I doing wrong? How do you access the locked car with the key from the outside???
Here's what the owner's manual says, on page 2-15.
If your vehicle has lost battery power, open the
hatch/trunk using the vehicle key. The key lock cylinder
is located on the rear of the hatch/trunk lid above the
license plate. Turn the vehicle key clockwise in the lock.

I wonder -- have you tried both your real keys in the lock? Maybe you got one bad key. If you are using the key in the key slot, and it is the correct key, perhaps a graphite lube will help. Good luck
