Default Is This Xm Thing Do-able??

I want to know if I can take an xm equipped GM RADIO,the sideview mirrors w/antenna's in them(06 version)and stick them on my 05??The radio in the car now has aftermarket xm and makes a thumping sound whenever I try to listen to it,and the static sucks too!!!

If I were you, I would use a Different XM radio.
The stock radio XM features are poor (no memo recalls, replay, etc)
Even a standalone tuner with FM transmitter should be ok.

Also, unless you are convinced that you prefer XM over sirius, I would check it out first. I had XM in the c6, got sirius in my other car and IMO sirius blows away XM. Now I will be installing the XM > sirius converter that GM is releasing any day. This will allow use of sirius through factory XM radio.

I dont want this turn into an satellite radio war, but just thought you should consider these things before spending the time/$ on inferior service/hardware, etc.

Well then something is wrong... Did you have it installed somewhere? if so, i would take it back there. there are ALOT of people using aftermarket setup, inlcuding myself without any problems
