Running Kooks on my A6, no tune necessary, you'll just get a check engine light.
Ran the car tonight it was trapping 116, could only manage a 12.3 but it has some more in it. Thats a 2.5mph, and 2 tenth improvement with no tune. Also it was 70 tonight and some wind (excuses)versus 45 when I ran the car without headers so I'm sure it made a little more difference.
I have an A6 and they're just starting to crack that computer. I may get one in the future, but I want to see some results first. I have a Haltech Stinger, but I haven't installed the CAI part yet.

Excellent numbers for an A6 Waveblaster785. I've never doubt the Kooks performance. What track was this in Maryland?
I understand there is a problem having headers installed on a California car. It will not pass the visual inspection. How are you planning on getting around that when headers are available for your automatic?
hbvette07,your right, headers are not legal in cal,but in some cases, your not required to get smoged for I think 4 or 6 years!so their might be a way to get around it!

what is the advantages of the ceramic coated headers??
Extends header life, runs 50% cooler, which extends life of other under hood parts and may give you a cooler air intake; adds a little HP; looks cool; may help light off the cats quicker avoiding a CEL. If you coat the x-pipe and cats, it will help with the console heat. Cuts down on the "pinging" sound.
how can i get the LG's or Kook's ceramic coated already?

They're just starting to crack the transmission computer, the TCM, but the ECM, the engine computer, is fully tuneable. For engine mods, that's all you need.
I have Kooks L.T./X-pipe/Hi-flow cats,Halltech S.S.M.,Calloway Double D exhaust,160 Thermostat----and NO codes.I havn't done a tune yet (but plan on it) the car seems to adjust to the mods after some miles. It runs like a raped ape now!!!

My C6 is a 05 and I won't need to get smogged until 2011. Also, some places don't care about the visual inspection, or don't really know what's OEM or aftermarket.
