Default Interrior Door Latch button

Has anyone experienced a problem with not being able to open a door with the inside door button? If so what was the fix? Our new 06 is at the dealer now for an intermittent door lock problem, the inside button works intermittently but the door can be opened from the outside touch pad as well as the manual release handle. The dealer's service dept is stumped as they have never had this problem before so now I have a rental.

I know this is really simple, but are you sure it's unlocked? Once you drive 8mph the doors lock automatically. They will unlock when you shut it off, but if you leave it running and just set the parking brake, or hold the brake so a passenger can get out, you need to press unlock before the button will open either door.

I hate to admit it, but I found the same problem but it was because I didn't have the car in park.

Since the locks are eletronic and don't make any noise, it's easy to forget that they got turned on.

We tried to open it everyway possible, it happened to the dealer mechanic as well. From what the Service Rep told me it has become a special interest car and what they find out will be passed on for further repairs, so it's starting to sound I'm the first to experience this. Our first Vette and it's not starting off very well.

Lucky you. A special interest car, that's the first one I have heard of. I would like to see a few special interest DBS cars.

Good luck.

I've just started having this same problem,(2 weeks now) some times my door (drivers)won't open ,,the lock button won't open it ,and the door button doesn't even make any noise,I open the window, reach out and open the door! then it works after I close the door and try it again. This isn't a problem all the time , but its been doing this about every 2 to 3 days apart! usually when the cars cold.(like a quick trip to corner store, quite embarassing

I just use the inside emergency release that way no one knows the difference.

Well after being in the shop for over a day they said it was fixed, took her home and guess what the door wouldn't open again. It's only happened once since but that's one time too many. I guess this will be the 06 version of DBS (Door Button Syndrome)
